제41회 대구국제성악콩쿠르 유럽예선, 성공적 마무리

한국 예선 8월 초, 본선은 8월 말, 모두 대구에서

(사)한국음악협회 대구광역시지회(이하 대구음협)가 주최하는 제41회 대구국제성악콩쿠르의 유럽예선 경연이 밀라노 베르디 국립음악원 푸치니홀에서 지난 7~8일, 양일간 성공적으로 개최됐다.

이번 예선은 이탈리아, 독일, 오스트리아, 중국 등 세계의 성악가들과 한국의 유학생 등 총 27명이 참가해, 총 5명이 본선에 진출했다.

작년에 이어 올해도 밀라노 시청의 문화부시장 '토마소 사치'와의 간담회도 있었다. 토마소 사치 문화부시장은 "제도적, 문화적으로 많이 닮아있는 밀라노와 대구가 대구국제성악콩쿠르 유럽예선 대회를 통해 재능있는 성악인의 발굴과 두 도시의 관광을 향상시키는 데 기여할 것이다"고 말했다.

다음 달 4~5일에는 대구콘서트하우스에서 한국 예선을 거치고, 25일 대구오페라하우스에서는 본선 경연이 예정돼있다.

또 특별히 올해 본선 심사에는 '미국의 마리아 칼라스'라 불리는 당대 최고의 소프라노 '쉐릴 스투더' 등을 포함한 총 7개국(미국, 이탈리아, 러시아, 독일, 한국, 일본, 중국)의 심사위원으로 구성돼 있어, 그 규모가 한층 더 커졌다.

최종적으로 시상은 최대 16명에게 주어지고, 대상은 2천만원의 상금과 문화체육부장관상을 수상한다. 또 수상자는 대구오페라하우스와 서울시 오페라단 데부의 특전이 주어지고, 대구콘서트하우스에서는 콩쿠르수상자음악회도 열릴 예정이다.

Korean qualifiers in early August, finals in late August, both in Daegu.

 

The European Preliminary Contest for the 41st Daegu International Vocal Competition, hosted by the Daegu Metropolitan City Branch of the Korean Music Association (Daegu Music Association), was successfully held on the 7th and 8th at the Puccini Hall of the National Conservatory of Music in Milan.

 

A total of 27 singers, including international singers from Italy, Germany, Austria, and China, as well as international students from Korea, participated in the preliminaries, and a total of five advanced to the finals.

 

Following last year, there was also a meeting with Milan City Hall's deputy mayor for culture, Tommaso Sachi. Deputy Mayor of Culture Tommaso Saatchi said, "Milan and Daegu, which are institutionally and culturally similar, will contribute to discovering talented singers and improving tourism in the two cities through the Daegu International Vocal Competition European Preliminary Competition."

 

On the 4th and 5th of next month, the Korean preliminary round will be held at the Daegu Concert House, and the final round will be held at the Daegu Opera House on the 25th.

 

In particular, this year's finals jury consisted of judges from a total of 7 countries (USA, Italy, Russia, Germany, Korea, Japan, China), including the best soprano of the time, Cheryl Studer, who is called the 'American Maria Callas', making the scale even bigger.

 

Finally, awards are given to up to 16 people, and the grand prize is awarded with a prize money of 20 million won and the Minister of Culture and Sports Award. In addition, the winners will be given the privilege of debuting at the Daegu Opera House and the Seoul Opera Company, and a concert for the winners of the competition will be held at the Daegu Concert House.
